Meet the team
John Richards, Pharm.D. - Owner
John Richards followed his passion, and grandfather's footsteps, and became a licensed pharmacist in 1991. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of the Pacific in Stockton. After working for years in the big box chain stores, John joined Professional Village Pharmacy as a staff pharmacist in 2001. John quickly saw how this independent community pharmacy, established in 1959, gave him the opportunity to work closer with patients and practitioners to elevate the health outcomes of his customers. So in 2004, John and his wife Melissa purchased Professional Village Pharmacy. John is passionate about continuing the over 60 years of tradition at Professional Village Pharmacy of providing the highest quality products and customer service in the Greater Sacramento area.
Mary Hassani, Pharm.D.
Mary earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Azad University and her Pharm.D. Toxicology degree at the University of Montana in 2007. What Mary loves most about compounding is helping people by creating compounds that make a significant difference in their health. Mary’s can-do attitude is both delightful and contagious. She enjoys singing and dabbles in digital painting.
Diane Lanza, Pharm.D.
Diane earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Utah in 2010. After moving to back California to be near family, she began working at a local community pharmacy in Sacramento which then changed into working for a large chain pharmacy after the community pharmacy was purchased by the chain. Diane joined Professional Village Pharmacy in December 2022.
